For many Russian seamen, as well as those of other member countries, the way to the sea began in the walls of Kaliningrad Marine College. It is situated in eight large buildings in this central city of the most western region of the country. Our graduates say with love and pride, " Our College!" It was formed on February 1, 1952. In past years more than twenty five thousand have graduated. Today many of these hignly trained seamen serve on vessels in many areas of the world's oceans. The level of preparation of the graduate is always of the highest. For many years Kalinigrad Marine College has been among the leaders at training personnel for seamanship. At present the college prepares professionals in twelve specialties at five departments. There is also an extensive network of correspondence training.
